Dr. Stefan M. Buettner

Dr. Stefan M. Buettner is Director Global Strategy & Impact at the Institute for Energy Efficiency in Production (EEP) and chairs the UN ECE Task Force on Industrial Energy Efficiency, as well as the UN ECE Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency. As initiator of the Energy Efficiency Barometer of Industry, he facilitates demand-side informed efficiency action.

He also coordinates the joint activities of EEP and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA to decarbonise industry. Mr Buettner is working on multinational committees, such as the EU Covenant of Companies for Climate and Energy (CCCE), the UN ECE Committee on Sustainable Energy, and as former coordinator of the G20 Energy Efficiency Task Groups on Industry and Finance on 'strategies to unleash energy productivity and decarbonisation potentials of industry'. In these, he has delivered over 175 speeches in 35+ countries, and numerous publications, including his dissertation.
